As many will know, it is not easy to stay alive on the battlefield when you have difficulty with the controls. To avoid being killed, here are some tips.
Unlike the previous Brothers in Arms Games, you can now lead a team of bazooka and order them to man the MG42 or fire some mortar rounds.
There are no power up or health packs so you need to be careful. Activate the birds eye view of teh battlefield with the “select” button. You can then observe the positions of both your enemies and your own troops. This will help you in your flanking manoeurves.

D-Day struggles to deliver on PSP

Brothers In Arms: D-Day is the latest instalment in the Brothers In Arms games franchise. The general gameplay remains intact, from the tactical prcesses to flanking manoeuvres, but is now more streamlined.
Although you will be delighted at how PSP can hold all the data, you will soon find that the controls are less than ideal for this game. While the console game uses 2 analogue sticks for movement, you are limited to the analogue nub on PSP. It takes a long time to move your men around.
It also does not help when the game has a clumsy movement and aiming system. You will soon find yourself dodging and hiding instead of taking your enemies head on. For this, you will need to rely on strategy to out smart your enemies.
This is a definite damper on the gameplay but is richly rewarding when you manage to complete the mission.
The game graphics are unfortunately not as good on the handheld and you may have difficulty picking out your own troops on the PSP display.
D-Day is a fair attempt to bring Brothers In Arm onto a handheld.
