Ninja Gaiden Sigma Review
June 26th, 2007    Subscribe To Our FeedPlaystation players can finally see for themselves what the fuss was all about in Ninja Gaiden Sigma. This was the game that has helped launched Xbox back in 2004.
The makers of Ninja Gaiden has wisely decided NOT to offer action games that follow the pattern of striking down enemies while simultaneously evading attacks. Instead, they came up with cool ways to kill enemies that were rarely a threat, make every enemy an intimidating existence and evoke that intense feeling of fighting for your dear life.
In this adventure, you as the super Ryu Hayabusa will face military soldiers, demonic fiends, rival clan ninjas and many more. While each of these enemies have different degrees of intelligence and threats, they all share a universal trait- that is of a conniving schemer.
Don’t expect them to simply stand around and take your beating happily. These villians can block, evade and make you pay for being too cautious when blocking for a long time.
Boss encounters are more exciting as they put the “super” in super ninja. Try thinking of evading bombs and missiles while attempting to shoot down a helicopter with a…. bow and arrow. Or taking a massive bone dragon limb by limb while dodging beasty swipes and flares from an angry monster.
This game also introduces serveral subtle fighting system tweak that will make even the veterans sweat. The only main grip is its atrocious camera controls and backtracking puzzles. Nevertheless, Ninja Gaiden Sigma is an entertaining game.
