Bargain Home Entertainment System with a Playstation 3 20GB
August 13th, 2007    Subscribe To Our FeedSony’s Playstation 3 is the most powerful of the three main next generation consoles. However, its value increases substantially whenever people use this console as a home entertainment system. Included with the Playstation 3 console are the ability to browse the internet, play music, and watch Blu-ray discs. In fact, users can save $100 simply by purchasing the Playstation 3 20Gb version instead of the 60Gb version, making the 20Gb version perfect for those that don’t want to store a lot of media on their Playstation 3 (and 20Gb can still store a nice amount of media).
Best Bargain, Period
Blu-ray discs support full 1080p resolution, the best standard in the world today. However, most stand alone players cost in excess of $1000. With the Playstation 3 20Gb, users can get the full functionality of standalone Blu-ray players at less than half the cost! Not only that, but this console can also play DVD movies and CD audio among other media formats, making it the cornerstone of any home entertainment system.
Beyond the Blu-ray capabilities, the Playstation 3 20Gb can browse the Internet, allowing users to have up to six open browsers at any given time so they can view multiple sites at once. Check e-mail, download pictures, and more with the browser. As connectivity goes, the Playstation 3 20Gb offers users multiple ways to get connected to the Internet. The wireless standards 802.11b and 802.11g are supported, and even without a wireless router, users can connect the Playstation 3 to the Internet via an Ethernet cable.
However, Sony has bundled more awesome features than the ones just featured above. The Playstation 3 20Gb has backwards compatibility with previous Playstation and Playstation 2 games, giving the Playstation 3 a game library of thousands of games choose from. Favorites like Final Fantasy VII and Metal Gear Solid 2 can be played without having to use old equipment. Although designed to play Playstation 3 games, the Cell processor is so powerful it can easily compute games coded for different hardware. Future firmware updates will also increase backwards compatibility.
Sony’s newest offering to the next generation consoles offers a bundle of entertainment for an absolute bargain. Blu-ray is expected to become the next-gen movie format, replacing DVDs in just a few years. For the best gaming experience, users also get the benefits of a CD, DVD, and Blu-ray player and an Internet browser, making the Playstation 3 20Gb the best value on the consumer electronics market.

Looking at the Playstation 3
August 11th, 2007    Subscribe To Our FeedThe Playstation 3 is a gaming system that has taken the world by storm as evidenced by its high volume sales. Quite frankly, there is no way the system would be able to maintain such high sales figures if it did not offer a high quality product. Yes, there could be significant market stimulation present by way of a solid advertising campaign, but if the product that was ultimately being sold was without merit, sales would slump as soon as the negative traits of the product became known to the public. Considering the colossal sales figures of Sony’s Playstation 3, it is obvious that the gaming system is a top of the line system that provides a level of audio, video and strategy quality that has pleased millions of people all over the world. Yes, we have come a long way from Atari’s old 1976 “Pong” system.
The Psychology Employed With The Playstation 3
Part of the reason for the success of the gaming system is psychological. Now, that is not to say that the perceived qualities of the gaming system exist solely in the mind of the consumer. All one has to do is look at the system and the top selling games to see that the Playstation 3 is a revolutionary form of home gaming entertainment that is miles ahead of its competitors. However, much of the financial success of the system derives from the fact that when the game debuted the volume of people who wanted to purchase the system greatly exceeded the number of units available. This made the Playstation 3 a rare commodity and such rarity made the system even more desirable to the public. As such, the units that were available for sale literally flew off retail shelves quicker than anyone could imagine.
Good, Better, Best
When it comes to the success of the Playstation 3, much of that success also derives from the fact that the consumers of the system believe it to be the best gaming system on the market. This is not an easy feat to achieve considering the fact that the Playstation 3 must compete with the Xbox as well as Nintendo systems. However, Playstation 3 has been able to deliver such a high quality product that it stimulated solid demand among gamers to the point that the Playstation 3 has won the hearts and minds of gaming aficionados to the point where Sony has a huge leg up on their competitors. As long as Sony is able to continue to deliver a top of the line product, it will continue to remain competitive and successful.

Marvel Trading Card Game
April 24th, 2007    Subscribe To Our FeedGame developer, Konami, has brought the Marvel comic books to virtual cards. Based on Trading Card Games (TCG) system, you control heroes and villians as they pound and plummet other characters in your opponent’s control. In this game, you and your opponent take alternative turns. At each turn, you draw 2 cards, play new characters, equipment and locations and lay the smackdown on (or attack) the opponent.
A mix of different elements and the need to build your own decks of cards provide for some compelling strategy. This is an engaging but excessively long story mode provides for the bulk of the single-player gameplay. With a total of 14 chapters adn more than 10 battles each lasting under an hour, this game is great for burning away long periods of idle time.
Every battle in story mode also earns you points for use in the card store, where you can buy various booster packs to add to your collection. If you crave for some multiplayer action, you can use your single-player decks via the ad hoc mode, with other friends who own a copy of Marvel TCG.
There is an online play option, though you wil need to spend additional money buying cards for your online set. For newbies, you may find Marvel TCG quite a different experience. For the experienced, you may find this game a polished introduction into the Marvel universe with the largest set of Marvel characters any video game has seen.
